Mother Nature Caught in Photographs

Nothing brings me as much peace as being in the outdoors. It is not uncommon to find me puttering around in a park, on a beach, at a lake, and even my own back yard. Generally, on these outings I sport a camera in one hand and a leash in the other; my Golden Retriever generally accompanies me on such excursions. These photographs of Mother Nature Outdoors are a compilation of many photo ops. Several different days, many different places, and some are simply lucky shots of the natural world I have been fortunate enough to capture in photographs. Each brings me a bit of peace, and I hope you find some measure of serenity as you forge through the groupings of Photographs of Mother Nature Outdoors .

About the Camera Equipment

I use a Fuji Pro Grade Digital SLR Camera with an on board SB-80DX flash. I never set-up lights or anything fancy when I shoot. I feel the digital advantage of this kind of camera is enough to get some snapshots worth sharing. For the shots in this hub, a Nikkor (Nikon) 28mm to 105mm, 1:3.5 - 4.5D mount lens was used. It offered me optimum focal distance and range without having to change to a different lens. I have always been a big fan of Nikon, still ONLY using their lenses, but for my needs these days, the Fuji SLR Camera is a perfect fit.

Tiny Orange Flower

Small Orange Flower Picture (Orange and Green Photo)

No larger than a 2 year old child's fingernail, this Tiny Orange Flower brightly popped out from its contrasting green backdrop causing me to take notice and snap this photograph. Dancing along-side the small sprigs of grass and leaves the light gently kisses the face of its petite peddles. The light as well as the coloring are pastel in appearance rather than sharp and crisp, bringing soothing emotions to wash over the viewer.

In the unfocused background we can see sibling flowers and green surroundings, which help to bring the wonderfully orange flower to center stage. I could have sat with this little gift forever so it seemed, enjoying the cool spring air and the precious expression of hope Mother Nature provided. This one tiny flower slowed my day to a stroll and created a serene head-space for the rest of the photo shoot. Because of this, I was able to appreciate many beautiful things that may have been missed otherwise.

Igniting Pink Flora

Light Striking Pink Flower Picture

In this photograph you find the power of light bending through space. A prism of colors are caught erupting at the edge of the lights movement. The pink flowers glow as if struggling to evade complete transparency in the face of such expanding passionate visual energy. The motion of light is almost visible as it thrusts through space, even as it is actually frozen within the image configuration; the shear immensity of Mother Natures will hardly slowing at all. From its brightly bursting beginning to its crisp convex edge, this powerful light attempts to become a Demigod1 of visual expression.

Outdoor Photographs

This grouping of 5 outdoor photographs brings a variety of images. The only thing in common is that they each have been located in the great outdoors.

  1. Pink High-wire Bud gives the impression of precariously navigating a circus high-wire. The stringent vine becomes the supporting feature while the dazzling Pink Bud wavers across the suspended and shifting wire. One can almost hear the gasps of a tense audiences response. All else in the background falls away as this talented bud captures our imaginations.
  2. Running Pinto shares the joy of a warm sunny day romping in the pasture with the cows and calves. A spirited gallop ensues as the youthful horse chases a calve in an equine dance of mischief.
  3. Gull Gliding on Shore is a simple and often witnessed image when visiting a beach setting. The warm California waves caress the shoreline as this Gull glides profoundly along its wet sandy edge.
  4. Feathered Gathering peeks in on a group of very small sea birds (none taller than a tea cup) as they join in congress along the clam Bodega Bay shore rocks.
  5. Oreo Cows are a festive sight as I cruise along Hwy 29. An entire herd stands away from these three black and white bovine. A sight I had not witnessed before, these fun and contrasting cows made for quite an unusual hillside view.

Mother Nature Offers Her Photographic Watery Side

Photographs With Water Features

In this Natural Grouping you will find water to be the common theme throughout. Water fowl, Music, shorelines, and hide-aways each counting on Mother Natures H2O for balance.

Photographs of Plants

Roses, Claws, Bright Pink, and a soft white Flower Pictures

From my front yard to the Maui coast, these pictures of flowers are a grouping I particularly enjoyed snapping. Roses have always caught my attention, so adding a couple from the front yard seemed appropriate. I also found a soft white-peddled flower way in the back of our property, and a really odd "claw-like" ice plant at the beach near Bodega Bay, in California. And the bright pink flowering plant outside of our condo in Maui shouted, "Take my picture!" and so I did. I thought the ice plant claw flora was the most unusual plant to share with you. I hope you enjoy the images.

Wow!!! This hub is a nature lover's delight and I viewed each photo slowly so I could savor them. Your attention to detail is amazing and I loved the written descriptions you gave. I had so many favorites but the Lobster Claw Ice Plant was one I'd never seen before and it was amazing that it looked just like its name. Also loved the jellyfish and the sunset grouping.

This was such a treat and I thank you for sharing it. Your love and respect form nature comes shining through in your photos.

Voted up across the board except for funny.

tlpoague~ Thank you for checking out mother nature here! You know, that picture of the "Chrome Jellyfish" has been one of my favorite photos since I snapped it in late 2006. It is underwater (obviously) off of the Maui coast.

Nice to have you over today!

Gorgeous pictures. I loved all of them, but especially those of the flowers. The contrast of their intense color against the green foliage made for quite a visual impact. And I had never seen "lobster claws" before - they really do look like them! Thank you for sharing these with us, K9KS. Shalom!

Cagsil~ How privileged I feel seeing your comments! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I enjoy landscape images a great deal myself Cags. I was going to do a full hub on just those long natural panoramic views, but I don't have enough of them yet to make it worth the effort to make that kind of article. Maybe in a month or so I will take on that project. Hope you are doing well my friend. I appreciate your support.

stephhicks68~ How great to find you here in the comments today! Thank you for the high praise, and I really love the green moss forest shots as well. The moss just looks so vibrant and soft. Of course it was not; kind of rough and wet-carpet-like in texture. But it made for a wonderful photo op. I appreciate you making it by and sharing your thoughts.

Fantastic photos. It's always a pleasure to take in the beauty Nature provides. I especially like the long distance shots. The ones that cover a lot of ground are the best. I guess I am fond of landscape photos. :) Voted up! :)

Hyphenbird~ Thank you for sharing your thoughts here! I found the Lobster Claw ice plant a very cool photo subject, I'm glad you do as well. Hard to beat a Nikon for those quality shoots! But I find in the field, that the combo of the Fuji light weight body with the Nikkor Optics works really well for me. Some of the pro Nikon gear is pretty heavy for me. In the studio though, Nikon is king!

I sure appreciate that you made it by for a look!

They are all just gorgeous. That lobster claw ice plant is fascinating though. I am going to have to study about it.

I also use a Nikon and love it. I wish I had a stronger zoom lens but will get one eventually. Thanks for a lovely virtual visit to your area.

The Midwest Man~ Thanks for the complements on the nature pictures, I had a great time. Since you asked, I use a Fuji Pro grade SLR camera with an on board SB-80DX flash. I never set up lights or anything fancy when I shoot. I feel the digital advantage of this kind of camera is enough to get some snapshots worth sharing. I am a fan of Fuji as they have a NON-round pixel that leaves less for the cameras computer to interpolate. I do however ALWAYS use Nikor (Nikon) Optics (lenses), but Canon has some very good sports optics, they just have a different lens mount than my Fuji. For the shots in this hub, a 28mm to105mm lens was used. It offered me optimum focal distance and range without having to change to a different lens. It has a special macro option at the flip of a switch that's really handy for the close-up work! Thank you for stopping by today, I enjoyed your question very much!

Cheers~

Great photos! I'm curious as to what camera you used to shoot them. The two cameras you listed from Amazon in the beginning of the article?

I've always wanted to visit Bodega Bay because I'm a Hitchcock fan and that's the setting of The Birds. I've never seen a Christ Tree in person.

They are beautiful.
