Automatic Dishwasher Soap Recipes, a Green Essential Oil Guide
68Green Dish Soap for Automatic Dishwashers
Eco-friendly Automatic Dish-washing; a Contradiction in terms?
Okay. So I get that washing dishes in an electric dishwasher seems just about as green as is a plastics factory, but hear me out. Even as the water usage of a home automated dishwasher is as wasteful as wasteful can be, we can still manage to make it as Eco-friendly as is possible in terms of pollutants. So with this effort in mind, you will find recipes for green dishwasher powder soap that are easy and very effective in the cleaning and shining of your dishes. Your glasses will sparkle, and that hard to clean stuck-on grime will melt away. You don't need to employ the use of harsh chemical cleaners in the battle for bright clean dishwasher washed dishes anymore!
Don't Over Load Dishwashers!
A Dishwasher side note: Fight the over-use of our consumer water supply by using the shortest cycle your dishwasher offers. Running full—but not over packed—loads also helps to reduce the number of times you run your dishwasher. Doing the heavy cleaning items like big pots and pans by hand also saves on the water supply because you won't have to run the much longer heavy-cleaning pots and pans cycle. Running a sink full of hot water saves a ton in H2O consumption! A few of the newer models actually have an economy setting that reduces water consumption per load, choosing this setting will help conserve water to some small degree.

Yet another incredibly useful hub. I love how you compiled a lot of information on essential oils. I also have a dishwasher that I don't use, haha. It sits in the pantry, gathering cobwebs - but it has a story. Perhaps you've inspired me to make a hub out of it. Voted up, useful and interesting.
Hi K9keystrokes, nice hub. Thanks for the great info for which I can certainly use. Voted up and useful.
K9,
This has some great info in it! If I ever use an electric dishwasher, I'll put it to good use, lol!
I'm still the sort who actually LIKES to wash dishes by hand. Sometimes I even sing while I do it, lol!
But so far, my best use for a dishwasher, has been to use as a really big drip-dry rack when I'm cleaning up after a party.
Great hub!
Well, for the first time in a long time, I have no dishwasher in the house I am renting but I love your dishwasher soap recipes K9! What an awesome idea and the essential oil chart is a treasure! I didn't know all of the benefits of each one and they smell so good too...memories memories! Your hubs are always jam packed with original and useful ideas and laid out so perfectly to display and further illustrate your topic!
The finest in the Hubland my friend!
Up, useful and awesome.
Wow, essential oils strike again! How cool!!!
I don't have a dishwasher, but as soon as I start living in a place that has one, I'll be utilizing these recipes! I love the table, too. So useful!
Hi K9, Having worked in a lab that manufactures dish detergents, I can say the proportion of ingredients is very important; too much of one and you get spotting, not enough and it doesn't clean. The new dishwasher detergents that are eco friendly were not as effective as chlorine based detergents for a long while; this is improving.
I recommend in most areas, especially in the states where there seems to be a lot of hard water (soluble minerals) people make up the rinse...I didn't know about the tea...who would have thought something that stains also cleans...lol
I love this kind of Hub...there is so much you can prepare yourself...but experimenting with the mix is even more fun!
I will definately be trying your recipes in this hub. Great information. I will bookmark this not only for the recipes but for the information on the herbs that you listed. Great job.
I think I need to have a bookmark file entitled K9 for all of the hubs I bookmark of yours. I've been having so many problems with my dishwasher just not washing the dishes to my satisfaction lately. I end up taking them out of the dishwasher and re-washing them by hand and am about ready to just wash them by hand all the time. I will try some of your Dishwasher soap recipes and hopefully have success. Thanks for giving me hope :)
