San Francisco's Uniquely Intense Workout - House of Air Trampoline Gym
75That Tempting Trampoline
Of the many unique places I desire to experience before getting too old, the House of Air Trampoline Gym in San Francisco, California is at the top of my list. I ask you the question, "What do air tricks and an airplane hanger have in common? Snowboarders Paul McGeehan and Dave Schaeffer of course!" This spirited duo decided to turn an old 1921 Air Force airplane hanger into one of the most tempting trampoline hang-outs around. Their Trampoline Air house has three distinct zones:
The Colosseum - This is the place to go to encounter jumping dodge-ball and slam dunk competitions. The Colosseum is said to have 22 contiguous trampolines for sporting your competitive expertise.
Training Ground - This area is for those who are looking for that perfect aerial workout. You will find 3 pro-grade trampolines and harnesses for practice and learning new tricks. This area is designed for those who are working to perfect those snowboard and wakeboard tricks. You won't find any beginners here!
The Matrix - This is the main event area. You have 42 trampolines that are joined together one after the other for a menagerie of unique workout experiences. The staff "Life Guards" post themselves at several positions around the trampoline grounds making sure all jumpers have a trained eye observing their trampoline experience.
An Extreme Trampoline Idea
One of the more unique workout opportunities is centered around snowboarding and wakeboarding. You can strap a specially designed and flexible snowboard/wakeboard to your feet and start focusing on new air tricks while acclimating to actually having the board underneath you. The trampoline training ground is a fantastic way to safely hone your extreme board tricks before you go flying off some snow-cover ridge or four-foot yacht wake
Trampoline Team Building Events
In a quest to find a really great team building event for a corporate outing, that can also offer an upscale feel for employees, I made a quick call to the Trampoline House of Air and got to speak with Eva, who was brought in to do just this. As we spoke about the trampoline house team building aspects she, coincidentally, was at that very moment completing the team building packages and was kind enough to email a copy of the information to me.
We were tossed up between the standard team building activities of paintball, obstacle courses, and traditional conference style corporate team building, when the trampoline house popped up on a low level documentary Sunday morning, as we were enjoying good coffee and pastry. Well, needless to say, we found the trampoline house idea to be the top choice for our staff team building for next years event. I can hardly wait to get this thing organized and pack a day bag!

Informative, interesting and well-laid out - something I've come to expect from you, K9! I just might have to try this trampolining place, even though the last time I was on a trampoline was probably 20 years ago!
My 12yo daughter is a competitive trampolinist and tumbler. She would absolutely LOVE this place! I wish someone would open one in Texas. Or maybe we can visit SF soon! Thanks for posting this!
This looks like a lot of fun, I do prefer to jump alone as I don't want to slam into someone or them me, ouch!
This is an amazing new take on trampolines.
:) katie
I can see how this would be a particularly attractive form of getting some exercise. I think a lot of adults would say it was a childhood dream to have a trampoline at home. :) Teams "and etc" - that does introduce an element of "extreme" to things.

Livelonger~ Thank you for stopping by. The house of air trampoline looks so fun I'm betting it would be worth the pain my friend! Hopefully it's like riding a bike, and it will all come right back to you. I really appreciate your kind remarks.
