CD - DVD Images With Rainbow Reflections
Photos of CDs
The brilliant rainbow colors these Cd's offered made for some very fun and really quick snapshots. They are each hand-held and "tipped" enough to grab the color prism and splash it across the CD surface. A variety of focal ranges and setting allowed for the unusual differences in how the rainbow cast itself onto the object. A 28mm to 105mm lens was used at varying zoom rates to produce the interesting outcome you find here.
- The first image provides a soft, almost glowing appearance.
- The second picture is the highly reflective inside of a CD player.
- The third CD has a glow not unlike that you would find on a gas stove.
- The fourth photo places the rainbow reflections in the background behind the strong astringent looking chrome surface while it sharply sections off strips of light showing several degrees of brightness.
- The fifth and final CD image smooths-out the rainbow reflection appearing like that of the degrees of heat graduating from coolest to warmest on a heating element.

Dirty, Messy, and Dusty Cords and Plugs
Click thumbnail to view full-sizePhotos of Neglected Plugs and Cords
Dust accumulates on everything! This includes those cords and plugs we use everyday to charge and operate our electronically driven devices. I went to a home where college age men live to see just how those important snakes of energy we call cords were being treated. Here is a collection of just a few places where the guys allowed dust to build up and the cords to tangle and bunch-up. Some of these shots are a reminder of how this kind of thing can potentially become dangerous fire hazards if not monitored and maintained. A cleaning party followed this snapshot session.
LED Lights on Gear

I found a couple of LED lights that were interesting enough to pop-off a couple snapshots of. The first set is a blinking light on an Internet NetGear device, its blue slow-strobing glow can all but hypnotise one as you try to look away. The second set of LED lights are found on an Arris componant that connects the Xfinity cable company to a TV. These lights have an eerie green glow that can, kind of, make you uneasy in the late night hours, a bit like a scary movie.
Inside Old Electronic Gear (PC Boards, Components, and Solder Joints)

Here you find the many electronic components needed to run our devices from the inside. Diodes, resistors, capacitors and more. Even some really neat heat sink fins that add dimension and interest to the PC boards internal structure. From intensely brightly lit to a subtle light approach, each image is taken as a snapshot using only an on-board flash or no flash at all. The idea is to offer a variety of lighting option for the photo user to choose from.
Odd Electronic Gear Images

When looking around you, it would be difficult to NOT see something driven or operated by electronic energy. With that in mind I popped off a few miscellaneous pictures of those things around us every day. Some we never even give a second thought to, not missing them if they were gone tomorrow, while others (like the remote control) we surely couldn't live without!
